Day 1 – Madrid / Beijing
The adventure begins. Departure on a flight to Beijing, via a connecting city. Overnight on board.
Day 2 – Beijing
Arrival in Beijing, the fascinating capital of China, where tradition and modernity coexist in perfect harmony. Transfer to the hotel and free time to begin discovering the vibrant atmosphere of this captivating city. Overnight.
Day 3 – Beijing (Full Board)
Breakfast. Today we will visit one of the world’s greatest icons: the Great Wall of China, a monumental feat of engineering with more than two thousand years of history and an undisputed symbol of the country. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the elegant Summer Palace, the former summer residence of the emperors, surrounded by gardens, pavilions and lakes. We will continue with a photo stop at two of the most emblematic buildings of the 2008 Olympic Games: the Bird’s Nest and the Water Cube. To round off the day, we will enjoy dinner featuring the famous Peking duck. Overnight.
Day 4 – Beijing (Half Board)
Breakfast. We will discover the historic heart of the capital, beginning with the immense Tiananmen Square before entering the spectacular Forbidden City, home to the emperors for almost five centuries. We will visit a traditional tea house, where we will learn about one of the most deeply rooted customs of Chinese culture. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will explore the magnificent Temple of Heaven, one of Beijing’s most beautiful and representative landmarks. Overnight.
Day 5 – Beijing / Xi’an (Half Board)
Breakfast. Departure by high-speed train to Xi’an, the ancient imperial capital and starting point of the legendary Silk Road. Box lunch during the journey. Upon arrival, we will visit the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda (exterior), one of the city’s great landmarks, and take part in an experience introducing us to the secrets of traditional Chinese calligraphy. Overnight.
Day 6 – Xi’an (Half Board)
Breakfast. Today we will visit one of the world’s greatest archaeological treasures: the impressive Terracotta Army, comprising thousands of life-size figures guarding the mausoleum of China’s first emperor. Lunch. We will end the day with a visit to the lively Muslim Quarter, famous for its markets, cuisine and traditional atmosphere. Overnight.
Day 7 – Xi’an / Guilin (Half Board)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Guilin, one of China’s most spectacular natural regions. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the fascinating Reed Flute Cave, filled with impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations illuminated by spectacular lighting effects. Overnight.
Day 8 – Guilin / Yangshuo / Guilin (Half Board)
Breakfast. We will embark on an unforgettable cruise along the Li River, considered one of the most beautiful landscapes in China, surrounded by karst mountains and traditional villages. Lunch on board. Arrival in Yangshuo, where we will have time to stroll along the lively West Street, lined with shops, cafés and local handicrafts. Return to Guilin. Overnight.
Day 9 – Guilin / Hangzhou (Half Board)
Breakfast. Flight to Hangzhou, a city renowned for its natural beauty and considered one of the most elegant in China. We will visit the former residence of Hu Xueyan, one of the most influential merchants of the 19th century. Lunch. Afterwards, we will stroll along historic Hefang Street, where we will visit the traditional Hu Qing Yu Tang Pharmacy and have the opportunity to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Overnight.
Day 10 – Hangzhou (Half Board)
Breakfast. We will begin the day with a visit to Lingyin Temple, also known as the Temple of the Soul’s Retreat, one of the country’s most important Buddhist centres. We will then enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the famous West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit the elegant Leifeng Pagoda, offering magnificent views over the lake and its surroundings. Overnight.
Day 11 – Hangzhou / Suzhou (Half Board)
Breakfast. Departure by road to Suzhou, known as the “Venice of the East” for its network of canals and refined classical gardens. We will visit the historic Tiger Hill, one of the city’s most emblematic sites. Lunch. Afterwards, we will stroll along the charming Pingjiang Road, where the traditional atmosphere of ancient China has been beautifully preserved. Overnight.
Day 12 – Suzhou / Shanghai (Half Board)
Breakfast. We will visit the exquisite Master of the Nets Garden, a masterpiece of Chinese landscape design and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lunch. En route, we will stop in the picturesque water town of Tongli, with its canals, stone bridges and beautifully preserved traditional houses. Continue to Shanghai. Overnight.
Day 13 – Shanghai (Half Board)
Breakfast. We will discover China’s most cosmopolitan city, beginning with the elegant Yuyuan Garden and the famous Jade Buddha Temple. Lunch. We will ascend to the 88th floor of the Jin Mao Tower to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Shanghai’s modern skyline. We will end the day with a stroll through the elegant French Concession, one of the city’s most charming neighbourhoods. Overnight.
Day 14 – Shanghai / Madrid
Breakfast. Free time for some last-minute shopping or to continue enjoying the city until the scheduled transfer. Before heading to the airport, we will have a unique experience travelling on the Maglev, the world’s fastest magnetic-levitation train, which will take us to the airport for our return flight to Spain.
Day 15 – Madrid
Arrival in Madrid and the end of an unforgettable journey through China’s imperial, modern and fascinating highlights.
